OpenClaw Config Checker
Paste your openclaw.json and see the settings OpenClaw's own docs warn about; paste your workspace files and see which ones OpenClaw will cut; pick a heartbeat and a model and see what an idle month costs. It all runs in your browser, and nothing you paste leaves the page.
Your openclaw.json
Rules from OpenClaw's docs, read October 19, 2026: gateway, exec approvals, channel policies, sandboxing. OpenClaw prints its full schema with openclaw config schema rather than publishing it, so this page checks the settings its docs name, not every key.
Workspace budget
Limits from OpenClaw's workspace docs: 20,000 characters per file, 60,000 in total, 4,000 for USER.md; a config above that sets bootstrapMaxChars or bootstrapTotalMaxChars is used instead.

FAQ
How do I check my OpenClaw config for security problems?
Paste your openclaw.json above. The checker reads it in your browser and flags the settings OpenClaw's own docs warn about: a gateway bound to the network without auth, exec set to run any command, direct messages open to anyone, a secret written in the file, and sandboxing left off. Then run openclaw security audit on the machine itself.
Why does OpenClaw cut my SOUL.md or USER.md?
OpenClaw truncates large bootstrap files when it injects them: by default 20,000 characters per file, 60,000 in total, and a separate 4,000 for USER.md. Paste your files above to see which ones go over and by how much.
How much do OpenClaw heartbeats cost?
A heartbeat runs every 30 minutes by default, about 1,440 times a month, and each one sends your bootstrap context to the model unless lightContext is on. Multiply by the model's price per token: the calculator above does it with the price board's prices.
Is my config sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you paste leaves the page. Remove secrets before pasting anyway, as a habit.
Does this replace openclaw security audit?
No. It reads only what you paste. OpenClaw's own audit checks the running install, and its CLI prints the full config schema with openclaw config schema.
