Privacy Policy

What data is collected

There is no account or login. Generation runs in your browser, and generated ideas and saved favorites stay on your device unless you explicitly use an optional availability check or open a next-step link, which carries the one name you chose. Nameryn uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to receive anonymous, aggregate pageview and performance information. It does not receive generated names, prompts, saved ideas, or a cross-site advertising profile.

The Idea Library and localStorage

When you save an idea to the Library, that information is saved to your browser's localStorage under the key funny_idea_log. This storage is:

• Stored on your device only — nothing is uploaded to any server.
• Never shared between browsers or devices.
• Readable and clearable by you at any time from the Idea Library drawer (Clear library button), or by clearing your browser's site data.
• Not tied to any account or identity.

Cookies

Nameryn does not use cookies for accounts, advertising, saved ideas, or analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics is configured as a cookieless service.

The Idea Library uses localStorage — not cookies — to store your favorites on-device only. localStorage is never transmitted with HTTP requests.

Analytics

Nameryn loads Cloudflare Web Analytics to count pageviews and measure basic browser performance. The beacon sends aggregate technical information to Cloudflare, such as the page visited, referrer, browser and device type, and timing metrics. It does not receive the names or prompts you generate, the contents of your Idea Library, or a persistent cross-site advertising identifier.

Nameryn also counts clicks. When you press a link or a button such as Generate, Copy, Save or a check, the page sends one short record to Nameryn's own counter on Cloudflare Workers: the kind of click, the page it happened on, for a link to another site only that site's address, and the time; Cloudflare adds the country. The record never holds a name or anything you generate or type, your IP address, a cookie, or any identifier that could tie two clicks to the same person. Only the site's owner reads the totals, on a private page.

Third-party services

Normal pages load Cloudflare's analytics script from static.cloudflareinsights.com. Generator logic, fonts, images, and saved ideas are served or stored locally by Nameryn. If you press an availability-check control, your browser sends only the selected name to MusicBrainz or the public .com or .ai RDAP service. Those checks are optional and do not run automatically.

A few pages fill a table with live public numbers when they open: the open-source AI agents directory asks GitHub's public API (api.github.com) for the listed projects' stars, open issues and last push, and the AI model prices and status board asks OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) for its public model list and the status pages of OpenAI (status.openai.com), Anthropic (status.claude.com) and Google Cloud (status.cloud.google.com) for their current status, and the AI stack builder asks Apple's App Store lookup (itunes.apple.com) for app ratings, Hacker News search (hn.algolia.com) for recent stories about the tools it picks, GitHub for stars and OpenRouter for model prices. These requests ask only for public data about the projects in the table; they carry nothing you typed and no Nameryn identifier. If the service does not answer, the page shows its dated snapshot instead.

The no-code agent builders table asks GitHub for the builders' stars the same way. The SKILL.md generator asks GitHub for the list of skill names in Anthropic's public skills repository when it opens; that request carries nothing you typed, and the name check runs in your browser against that list. The MCP server name generator sends the server name you typed to the public MCP registry (registry.modelcontextprotocol.io) only when you press its check button.

Next-step links next to generated names (a registrar or logo maker on the business generators, a mug on the name combiners) are ordinary links: nothing is sent until you click, the link carries the name you chose, and the destination site sets its own cookies under its own policy. The affiliate ones are marked as such next to the link; for those, Nameryn receives an anonymous click count from the affiliate network, never your identity.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will be updated. Because there is no account system, no notification can be sent — check this page if you want to stay current.
