How to Rename Muse on Meta's Glasses and the Muse Charm
As announced by Meta on September 23, 2026 at Meta Connect, Muse, Meta's personal AI agent, is coming to Meta's AI glasses and to Muse Charm, a small device built for talking to your Muse. Meta first announced Muse on September 8, 2026, rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai. This page covers renaming it as far as Meta has described it, and will be rewritten against the real product when the glasses and the Charm support ship.
Rename Muse today
Meta's help page for Muse lists changing your assistant's name among its settings, and says you can do it two ways:
- Ask Muse. In a conversation, tell it the name you want it to use, for example "Change your name to Tarovi."
- Edit it yourself. Open Muse's settings and change the Name field.
Meta's help page did not give an exact menu path when we read it, so look for Name among Muse's settings in the app or on muse.ai.
What about the glasses and the Muse Charm?
Meta's Connect recap says you will soon be able to say your agent's name. It has not said which phrase wakes Muse on the glasses or the Charm, or whether a custom name will work as the wake word. Until it does, assume the custom name changes how Muse introduces itself, not necessarily what it listens for.
Pick a name that works out loud
If you expect to say the name to your glasses, choose it like a wake word: two or three syllables, a clear opening consonant, and nothing that sounds like a word you say all day or another assistant in your home. The AI agent name generator makes names to those rules, lets you tick the assistants already in your home so nothing sounds like them, and plays each name in your device's own voice.
