llms.txt Generator
Type your site's name, a one-line summary and the pages that matter, one per line, and get an llms.txt in the llmstxt.org format to copy or download. It is written from your own words only, in your browser.
Google says you don't need AI text files to appear in its AI features (Google Search Central), so this file is for the AI tools that read it, not for Google rankings.
What Goes in an llms.txt
- An H1 with the site's name. The only part the format requires.
- A one-line summary, as a quote, with what an AI tool needs to read the rest.
- Optional detail, in plain paragraphs with no headings.
- Sections of links, each an H2 with lines in the form "- [name](url): note". A section called Optional holds pages a tool can skip.
Nameryn's own file is at nameryn.com/llms.txt. Format: llmstxt.org, read October 19, 2026.
FAQ
What is an llms.txt file?
A Markdown file at the root of a site, such as example.com/llms.txt, that gives AI tools a short summary of the site and a list of its most useful pages. The format at llmstxt.org asks for an H1 with the site's name, a one-line summary, and sections of links with a note each.
Does Google use llms.txt?
Google says you don't need to create AI text files or new markup to appear in its AI features, so an llms.txt will not help you in Google Search. Some AI tools and coding assistants do read it, which is the reason to write one.
Where do I put llms.txt?
At the root of your site, next to robots.txt, so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt. Upload the file this page downloads, or paste the text into a new file with that name.
What goes in the Optional section?
Pages an AI tool can skip when it needs a shorter summary: a blog archive, old release notes, press pages. llmstxt.org reserves the section called Optional for that.
Is anything I type sent anywhere?
No. The file is written in your browser as you type, and the download is made on your device.
